Fellow ladies in LFD

I didn’t think I’d meet so many fellow ladies in LFD willing to reveal their genders, but I did. There were 3 of them who started it off by mentioning their significant others. The first thing I could think to type was:

Me: Fellow ladies in LFD?! My god!!!

Fun dungeon! The lone male healer mentioned he felt like a pimp, and there was plenty of friendly banter about.

Hope to have more fun runs like that :D

Would like a celestial dagger!

At this point, I became extremely confused with timelines…

Fun times in ICC~

Ninja-jumping Saurfang the Younger with a 2-headed ursine.

Losing the mind over in Ulduar.

Yep. Lost it and died in Yoggie. Interesting view nonetheless.

So preeeetty~

I want one of those star daggers!

Never liked the Grimtotem. My death knight was happy to oblige me there.

Loved this mini-event.

I know my stomach hurt after laughing at these two.

A triumph in LFD

I’ve been queuing up for Heroic Zul’Gurub, Stonecore and Vortex Pinnacle as DPS for slightly over 2 months in a bid to attain the coveted mounts. I also queue for normal Stonecore and Vortex Pinnacle. Someone as geared as myself would understandably pull off poor 82s on the first hit so I tend to go to normal instances in my hybrid tank spec with my PVP gears.

Once, I got into heroic Stonecore with a very rude tank who immediately started calling us a ‘shit group’ after the first pack despite the fact no one had died or done anything stupid. The tank (who was embarrassingly enough from my realm) continued his spat of verbal abuse throughout the dungeon. At some point I told the group that I simply wasn’t with the knave so please don’t lump us together. We tolerated the tank’s behaviour until the healer accidentally wandered too near a side pack and pulled it. The tank refused to taunt off the healer till a long while later. After we downed the pack, this exchange happened.

Tank: I wanted to wait till you died before taunting.
Me: Then I would have taunted off the healer because I am in tank spec.
Healer: Hah!
Tank: You go tank the boss then.
Me: Sure.

I immediately pulled the boss without waiting for the tank to switch specs to DPS. The boss went down without incident despite us being 1 DPS short. After the boss died:

Tank: … damn
Me: Heh.
Healer: This is a classic case of good triumphs over evil!

So don’t put yourself on some high pedestal, tanks.

Retbull and wings

Favourite spot in Howling Fjord.

I still try to revisit the old places even now.

Fweeeeeeeeeeeee

Another attempt at HM Professor Putricide.

I fed Mr Chilly a biscuit~

My short-lived attempt at shaman. This guy was deleted at level 8.

Dat back~

But I like our feathered friends :(

My disgruntled death knight suddenly finds himself in a sickeningly warm and bright place.

Raiding updates

Ragnaros is on farm and is a kitty’s DPS wonderland.

Heroic Shannox is cake.

Going to try Heroic Beth’tilac this Wednesday.

25man raids are epic. 10mans are–for some obscure reason–dreadfully boring despite having even good friends/ core raiders from the 25s in them.

I adore my raid leaders.

4pcT12 was attained last Wednesday and I currently stand at ilvl 376 in feral DPS gears alone.

According to WowProgress.com, I’m the top geared feral DPS druid on my realm; either cats are rare or I’ve been lucky with lewt.

A bit of Outland.

Pukey sky D:

It’s beautiful in some twisted way.

Behold… Sparkle bear!

Love being a wolf over at Howling Fjord!

So peaceful and snowy!

An old quest from the Plaguelands.

This zone creeped me out.

Yet I felt morbidly drawn to it on occasion, as if determined to overcome my fear.

Had to take this quest on before Cataclysm hit!

Though this is one of the most touching questlines players reference, I did not feel especially connected nor moved.

Still, I cannot deny that it was a very well-written story!

Even now I use my sparkle pony.

I miss the Tree of Life form! These days if ever our healers have to need to use it, the raid -shouldn’t- be looking at them!

Note to self

Next time, prepare yourself mentally when looking through old screenshots; the memories of players who have moved on or vanished can be too overwhelming. Remember how lucky you are to have found a bunch of players you enjoy spending time with online now.

It’s a little like looking through my blog links. So many blogs are now inactive. I do not blame the bloggers–of course, but it’s still a little sad to see that somehow Cataclysm was not the hit many were expecting.

I shall comfort myself with the possibility that players may one day return to Azeroth…

I’m an NPC!

Would’ve made some pretty good sashimi.

My transformation into an NPC is complete!

Now I can stop farming  Burning Crusade raids…

Yay~

My RL used to run laps around Dalaran while forming raids. I’d toss him a Baby Spice and hop on his mount!

Readying for the pull…

Resilience.

I honestly can’t believe so many months have passed since I left this blog to collect dust. Seems only yesterday I was writing about patch 4.1. Between juggling officer duties, recruiting and trying hard to keep things together on the real life front (which is unfortunately more unstable than a 25 man raid connection), I’ve also begun to take on PVP.

Ahhh PVP. How you’ve tormented me so. The days of being ganked by Alliance and feeling no way to retaliate. When the new rated battleground mounts came out, I got annoyed that they were beyond my skill reach. Then stopped and decided I would get it somehow.

I farmed the gears through battlegrounds and my feverish grind attracted a bit of attention from the guild; we’re primarily a PVE guild, but many of the old-time raiders PVPed at some point. This was an opportunity for them to hop back in with some communal support. Even managed to get a guild rated battleground together!

Still, the greatest satisfaction came from a single incident. I was at the Molten Front doing my dailies at the underground cavern unlocked by the Druids of the Talon. My hostile player detector warned me of an Alliance druid somewhere in the vicinity, so I switched to my PVP gears and hybrid spec, went into bear form and went to get my quest at the NPC.

Sure enough I was ambushed by a Night Elf druid from the most notorious Alliance PVP guild.

The fight lasted 10 minutes.

I won with half my life intact. And danced over his corpse.

This–my friends–is the greatest victory for me in PVP.

Mounts and more mounts.

Went for a little romp around Westfall.

Like a Western!

Tag! Who’s it?

Gotta love Hippogryphs!

Eeps! Nommed.

Always loved the scenery in Zul’Aman. I’m sort of glad they reintroduced it as an 85 instance, yet a little sore that we can’t fly around the uninstanced version!

After a long night of tanking…

Because sparkle ponies deserve some love.

This is the only kodo mount I’m willing to use.

Because the new Cat Form models are worth it.

Ulduar is probably the most beautiful instance of all. Still, after the endless wipes to Yoggie, I’m not going to step in there willingly any time soon.

Continuing with those SSs.

Aggro.. omgsh?

The end of a must-do questline from the Blasted Lands pre-Cata. I’m not sure if it’s still available.

Paying respects to a wise one.

Dat armour!

As beautiful and creative the place is, I really hate entering these bug dens. Not a bug-phobic, but it’s something about the colour scheme and the whole I-actually-the-inside-of-a-bug look that turns me off.

Hated this grind sooooo much!

Yeah, I didn’t think pink dragons were to be taken seriously either at first x.x

Remember, this was pre-Cata with no flying in Azeroth…

Awww!

…go haunt another unsuspecting kitty!

Long nights explaining Professor Putricide to folks.

A dry gorge that is now underwater in Cata.

Pre-watershed state.

Booty Bay has some pretty nice rooms. Love the view, but the pollution stinks!

Duskwood.

Kitties aflame.

Contrary to the state of this blog, my guild has been quite active. I was recently promoted to Officer status to help keep people in check *cracks whip* and help with distributing EP since I proposed we use the EPGP loot distribution system. Being an officer is a busy and sometimes annoying role, but I try to do all I can so our top two folks (RLs) don’ t have to feel so much pressure. I feel I should be doing more, but currently this is all I can handle (good grief WHY does everyone have to whisper me about things when I’m trying to form up the raid !@#$).

We are now one of only 6 or so 25-man raiding guilds on my server, and that of course–compared to 10s–presents a lot of challenges. Still, when we split ourselves into 2 10man groups to find out why we were wiping to Staghelm 25 so badly, it shocked us that the scaling difficulty for 10 and 25 on that boss was so absurd.

Both groups 1-shot Staghelm 10man that night. This is after we were wiping to him for 3 weeks or 4.  Next week we finally decided to be firm and replace people with connection problems the minute they were detected, and finally brought Staghelm down on the last attempt for the night.

Oh, and look what dropped :3

Unexpected awesomeness

Daakara in Zul’Aman is not a boss I consider difficult by any means. The group I had this evening was a lacking in the DPS department. We got through most of the instance fine with the aid of CCs, but for some reason communication went bad when Daakara turned into his bear form and started charging at people. Someone messed up, died, and soon everyone was dying.

In fact, everyone did die except me.

And so I soloed Daakara in kitty while he was an eagle till he died.

The rest of the party had already run back in, thinking I was dead. Oh no. This kitty isn’t going down without a fight or some silly stunt!

Vial of the Sands

Attained at 27.5k gold. Pretty good deal; apparently the seller sold it to me for a loss but he seemed desperate to be rid of it.

PUGing into Zul’aman

First time I dove off the deep end into the remade instances with strangers.

It wasn’t so bad. In fact, it was fantastic.

In all I think we had 2 wipes. Once because the healer couldn’t keep us up at the eagle boss, and 2nd time at the last boss.

Once, the healer and 1 DPS were separate from the tank, a mage and I. The tank accidentally pulled a pack of trash, and I tried my darnest to heal him for as long as possible while he called out for a regroup. Of course my heals sucked and he died. Went bear, popped multiple CDs and somehow managed to stay alive till the healer rejoined us and held my HP till the adds died.

First wipe at the last boss was because people forgot to rotate standing farthest from the bear phase. So I ran out to take a hit once. Everyone else started dropping dead one by one and I ended up as a bear with mulitple CDs and self-healing. Lasted for quite a long time but died nonetheless. Oh well; was worth a silly try!

While corpse running back into the instance, this little conversation played out:

Mage: [My name], you’re a great druid.
Tank: Yes he is.
Me: Thank you <3

Downed the final boss on the next try and parted with encouraging words to one another. I love pugs sometimes!

About 4.1 night.

This evening I was doing the whole Zul’gurub questline involving looking for a bloodthirsty panther.

Went into a huge cave looking for it and got lost.

2 members of the most notorious Alliance PVPers came into the came after me and got lost too. My poor toon was pooping herself in panic though I was stealthed. The enemies ran past her so many times D:

So I made a break for the exit and MOMMY THEY FOLLOWED MY TOON.

But phew they didn’t kill her.

When players become people

From WoW Insider’s breakfast topic today, they quizzed readers on what it was like to finally see the people behind the avatars. One reader’s comment stood out among the rest:

Meeting someone online means that you can learn about the important things before the unimportant things get in the way. If you’re in my guild and I’ve raided with you, I know if you’re generous or selfish, impatient or rash, stubborn or determined or lazy, smart or dumb. Less important things like biological gender, age, ancestry/skin tone, wealth or poverty, disabilities, often I don’t learn about those for years.

And I like it this way.

This pretty much sums up why I like making friends over the internet.

The old Azshara

Back during the good o’ 25 man days.

Yessir.

Poor guy :(

I tried to heal him, kept the nasty mob on me but Taelen was intent on dying D:

Yeah… :( I was so sad.

Ahem.

An age gone.

I love how almost everyone was united in their deep loathing for the Old Azshara :P I picked up a lot of [Schematic: Deepdive Helmet] during the time from an alt parked there. Sold them on the AH for a nice profit, but eventually someone else cashed in on them and I stopped selling. I had almost 20 pieces on my alt when Cataclysm hit, and a short while later, I discovered the schematic was no longer available. Selling them off slowly now at a *very* nice profit :0

How to train your felpup!

Why didn’t they let me keep him?!

Defender of a Shattered World

Al’akir down, dark sparkly birdie attained!
