Globetrotting Azeroth and beyond

Latest

Up to date.

Going through my old screenshots brings great memories back, but also a great sense of loss. There are so many people whom I’ve raided with who I will likely never see or speak to again. It’s a strange sad feeling; I’ve never thought to invest much—if indeed any—emotions in them. Yet, time passes the same and life continues on.

I’ve not screenshotted much in MoP, perhaps in part due to the boring nature of Cataclysm that left me cautiously optimistic. Perhaps I should SS more from now.

Landing in an unfamiliar land on a burning aircraft.

That’s right mogu. Don’t mess with the kitty.

My first run-in with the Sha of Anger involved him having planted his big fat !@# on my questing area!

Indeed.

Pandaria is a land of food shortages. 500g for a spoonful on the Auction House is… ‘reasonable’ here.

Every time I see this, I have to laugh. TANKING WITH MY FACE.

My favourite item of MoP!

The raid preparing to take on Garalon.

Wiping during our first few tries at Empress.

A dusty little updated

*dusts the corners of blog carefully*

So, Cataclysm was sort of a bore. I kind of scrapped by towards the end taking more time off it though still raiding actively. To be honest there wasn’t much to keep me on WoW except for the guild. Then the Guildmaster/ raid leader quit due to real life issues and the guild came under new management.

I am one of the new faces of the officer team. Having inherited the duties of the oldest and most established guild on the server placed a very huge load on my shoulders; I hadn’t become an officer by choice rather consequence and know full well being one isn’t a privilege. It is a duty.

Towards the end of Cataclysm the guild established itself as one of the top of the server and right before Mists of Pandaria hit, we received a huge number of hardcore applicants who wished to raid with us. I was nervous about this as the guild is only semi-hardcore with our main focus placed on proper execution than getting ranked in World of Logs.

When MoP hit, we had a number of new folks who attained server first level 90 class achievements. 3 weeks later we entered raiding on a 42 man roster and a team of fresh officers. The first month and a half was extremely stressful to the officers as we had a clash of ideals within the guild. It was a showdown between the new hardcore trials who felt they were carrying the rest of the raid with their ‘leet dps’ and the veteran raiders who—though didn’t rank as frequently—shone in their precision of avoiding shit and keeping to assignments—not metre-padding.

In the end, the officers had to put their feet down and reaffirm that we would never be a hardcore raiding guild, merely semi. While we lost a lot of great hardcore players soon after this the guild direction was clearly set out, and those who chose to remain with us are happy to do so. We have far less complaints and concerns, allowing the officer team to focus on more important issues at hand. I also have less silver hair sprouting. We aren’t the top guild at the moment, but certainly one of the better ones on the server. Our roster is thinner now, but the raids must go on. Recruitment must continue.

Also, with so much going on I had little time to actually do any transmogging until a couple of weeks ago. A totally new set of items, and a new sense of pride!

The most beautiful cloak in the game. Am so glad to have won it at the time.

Daily Blink rules.

If you haven’t heard of the Daily Blink, you must be living under a rock in the WoW community. I’ve long been a fan of their comics and to hear they’re expanding is nothing short of fantastic news. So to Chris and Mike, thank you for bringing the lulz.

Never thought I’d get it too!

Logged in today to find my first hate mail from an AH seller! Strong language behind cut:

A more druid-y theme.

While not exactly transmog, I would like to feature this outfit for the human form of my worgen druid.

And a variant for lighter travelling.

Still can’t find a good polearm transmog

When heroic Kiril dropped, I was overjoyed but also slightly flustered; I’ve never been able to find a polearm model nice enough to transmog my raiding weapons to, so ended up transmogging everything else to suit it. This is the result:

Accompanying companion pet.

Accompanying mount.

Beautiful cloak details.

Yum purples.

:3 Till the next transmog!

At least I know what to do if life gives me lemons.

Been quite busy at work, but it’s been pretty worth it so far.

Still, working with (not -in-) Blizzard Entertainment can have its ups and downs.  The other day they gave me a huge doughnut; I was stupefied.

Also, white stags as the new travel form? Orcas as aquatic forms? Totally called it way back :P

Finally got my Firelord title!

And won the mount! WEWT! Was tanking it :D

A first for me.

This is the first time I have cleared all end-game content in its heyday.

After almost a month of wiping to 25HM Spine of Deathwing, after the 15% nerf was active, we 1-shot it (wtf?) then spent 2 days on 25HM Madness of Deathwing. Madness is cakewalk compared to the demands of Spine!!!

2 of these mounts dropped. :o The raid leader asked us to roll 1 – 100. The lowest and highest rollers would get the mounts.

I rolled a 1.

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT!

Just a little bit more…

…to getting Heroic 25m Deathwing down!

But in the meantime, I completed my shamanistic/ tribal set!

> > > > > Shamanistic/ Tribal Set (Tauren) < < < < <

:D

I don’t Transmog often, but when I do…

…I take a darn lot of pride in it, be on my Roleplaying server or my PVP server.

Hello folks! Been a while around here and much has happened IRL and online. I finally got an apartment to call my own, and my beloved raiding guild finally bit the dust. I’ve moved on to another raiding one, but parting with the old that I was in since 2009 really stung…

Gloomy things aside, I’ve been happy to transmog here and there!

> > > > > Veteran Druid Set (Tauren) < < < < <

This was my raiding main’s very first transmog set. Full tier sets are fairly common now, but I had all these items in my bank waaaay before patch 4.3 was out so was able to use them immediately.

> > > > > Blue Druid Set (Worgen) < < < < <

Here’s my roleplaying character with her first transmog set.

> > > > > Druid Death Knight Set < < < < <

I absolutely adore this set and how it matches a Crimson Deathcharger. Do intend to use it regularly.

> > > > > Veteran Druid Set (Worgen) < < < < <

That’s all for now. Currently working on a shamanistic set for my tauren, but haven’t quite completed its farming process. Will update this when it’s done!

Fellow ladies in LFD

I didn’t think I’d meet so many fellow ladies in LFD willing to reveal their genders, but I did. There were 3 of them who started it off by mentioning their significant others. The first thing I could think to type was:

Me: Fellow ladies in LFD?! My god!!!

Fun dungeon! The lone male healer mentioned he felt like a pimp, and there was plenty of friendly banter about.

Hope to have more fun runs like that :D

Would like a celestial dagger!

At this point, I became extremely confused with timelines…

Fun times in ICC~

Ninja-jumping Saurfang the Younger with a 2-headed ursine.

Losing the mind over in Ulduar.

Yep. Lost it and died in Yoggie. Interesting view nonetheless.

So preeeetty~

I want one of those star daggers!

Never liked the Grimtotem. My death knight was happy to oblige me there.

Loved this mini-event.

I know my stomach hurt after laughing at these two.

A triumph in LFD

I’ve been queuing up for Heroic Zul’Gurub, Stonecore and Vortex Pinnacle as DPS for slightly over 2 months in a bid to attain the coveted mounts. I also queue for normal Stonecore and Vortex Pinnacle. Someone as geared as myself would understandably pull off poor 82s on the first hit so I tend to go to normal instances in my hybrid tank spec with my PVP gears.

Once, I got into heroic Stonecore with a very rude tank who immediately started calling us a ‘shit group’ after the first pack despite the fact no one had died or done anything stupid. The tank (who was embarrassingly enough from my realm) continued his spat of verbal abuse throughout the dungeon. At some point I told the group that I simply wasn’t with the knave so please don’t lump us together. We tolerated the tank’s behaviour until the healer accidentally wandered too near a side pack and pulled it. The tank refused to taunt off the healer till a long while later. After we downed the pack, this exchange happened.

Tank: I wanted to wait till you died before taunting.
Me: Then I would have taunted off the healer because I am in tank spec.
Healer: Hah!
Tank: You go tank the boss then.
Me: Sure.

I immediately pulled the boss without waiting for the tank to switch specs to DPS. The boss went down without incident despite us being 1 DPS short. After the boss died:

Tank: … damn
Me: Heh.
Healer: This is a classic case of good triumphs over evil!

So don’t put yourself on some high pedestal, tanks.

Retbull and wings

Favourite spot in Howling Fjord.

I still try to revisit the old places even now.

Fweeeeeeeeeeeee

Another attempt at HM Professor Putricide.

I fed Mr Chilly a biscuit~

My short-lived attempt at shaman. This guy was deleted at level 8.

Dat back~

But I like our feathered friends :(

My disgruntled death knight suddenly finds himself in a sickeningly warm and bright place.

Raiding updates

Ragnaros is on farm and is a kitty’s DPS wonderland.

Heroic Shannox is cake.

Going to try Heroic Beth’tilac this Wednesday.

25man raids are epic. 10mans are–for some obscure reason–dreadfully boring despite having even good friends/ core raiders from the 25s in them.

I adore my raid leaders.

4pcT12 was attained last Wednesday and I currently stand at ilvl 376 in feral DPS gears alone.

According to WowProgress.com, I’m the top geared feral DPS druid on my realm; either cats are rare or I’ve been lucky with lewt.

A bit of Outland.

Pukey sky D:

It’s beautiful in some twisted way.

Behold… Sparkle bear!

Love being a wolf over at Howling Fjord!

So peaceful and snowy!

An old quest from the Plaguelands.

This zone creeped me out.

Yet I felt morbidly drawn to it on occasion, as if determined to overcome my fear.

Had to take this quest on before Cataclysm hit!

Though this is one of the most touching questlines players reference, I did not feel especially connected nor moved.

Still, I cannot deny that it was a very well-written story!

Even now I use my sparkle pony.

I miss the Tree of Life form! These days if ever our healers have to need to use it, the raid -shouldn’t- be looking at them!

Note to self

Next time, prepare yourself mentally when looking through old screenshots; the memories of players who have moved on or vanished can be too overwhelming. Remember how lucky you are to have found a bunch of players you enjoy spending time with online now.

It’s a little like looking through my blog links. So many blogs are now inactive. I do not blame the bloggers–of course, but it’s still a little sad to see that somehow Cataclysm was not the hit many were expecting.

I shall comfort myself with the possibility that players may one day return to Azeroth…

I’m an NPC!

Would’ve made some pretty good sashimi.

My transformation into an NPC is complete!

Now I can stop farming  Burning Crusade raids…

Yay~

My RL used to run laps around Dalaran while forming raids. I’d toss him a Baby Spice and hop on his mount!

Readying for the pull…
